This is an interesting take but I wonder if you are having tunnel vision focusing on Western Europe or worse even in France and England. I don't think either of those "nations" was much of a power even during early modernity. The Spanish crown was the closer thing to a European superpower; both the rising Ottomans and declining Ming were also much more rich and militarily powerful.

But your overall observation is on point and interestingly has been made somewhat by historian Ian Morris in "Geography is Destiny". In that book he asserts that the "meaning of geography" changes with time. The period of British dominance concurs with when it became imposible for Europeans to successfully invade across the channel.

You start too early but after the Protestant Reformation England started to pull away from Europe and built institutions capable of creating a navy that could ensure none could threaten to invade her. Furthermore, she was free to build herself a trade empire but let's keep in mind that England would never be albe to militarily dominate Europe which is why her best interest were served by making sure that no European power was the dominant one.

The French noticed this of course and try to act upon it. They were defeated in the Seven Years War which you interestingly fail to ring up because it is this war which definitely settles the roles of Britain and England for the rest of modernity.

As an epilogue to this comment, it is worth noting that naturally, British power would decline as soon as it's navy stopped being the essential element behind world trade. Worse even, it is not even enough to stop other navies to invade her. Thankfully for her, the most powerful navy in history is an ally.

I don't disagree with any of your comments I do believe in substance the word limit is around 2500 words and for me in regards to the writing and keeping the articles between 300 and 2,500 words.

We all are due the time I have available to do this kind of writing is limited and until I have built a larger following as well as subscribers is not enough financial incentive for me to spend five hours a day researching this kind of content as well as bulking out the writing.

My professional goals writing this platform as well as other platforms such as medium and YouTube is to build up a sizeable audience and then to generate revenue which will enable me to focus on creating meaningful content.

As a focus in Western Europe as stated above I am doing snippets of information because there's just a lot of information and I have limits on my time trying to produce between between 1600 to 5000 words per week along with the video and audio podcasts.

Thanks for commenting much appreciated and it's nice having feedback from other people's that are knowledgeable on these topics they helped me to grow as a writer and audience interaction is very meaningful to me.

Please take care
